Thank you for getting a tattoo with me!
Please follow the below instructions to heal your tattoo. If you are unclear about anything or have any questions, please reach out to me.
Second skin:
The second skin film can stay on your tattoo for 24 hours and up to 4 days, as long as the edges are sealed all around the tattoo
You will notice some fluid inside the second skin and the lines can sometimes look “blurry”. This is normal, it is excess ink, blood, and plasma that your body is using to heal your tattoo.
If the second skin starts lifting, or you notice any irritation, remove it immediately.
Removing the second skin
In the shower, or under running water, start by pulling a corner of the patch away from your tattoo, parallel to your body.
Pull down, not up, and the patch will release from your skin.
DO NOT pull it up like a Band-Aid, this can damage your skin and your new tattoo. Slowly and carefully is the best way to remove it.
Wash immediately with a scent free soap and pat dry with a clean paper towel.
Apply a thin layer of aftercare cream or balm, and follow the healing instructions below.
The next 2 weeks!
Follow this routine for the next two weeks, twice a day,
Wash. Dry. Cream.
If you feel your tattoo is a little dry throughout the day, apply a thin layer of cream or balm, but don’t keep it covered in cream.
While healing, your tattoo may get a bit itchy, red, and scabby. This is normal! Don’t pick or scratch at your new tattoo. It can pull the ink out and result in a patchy finish.
Avoid tight clothing, or clothing that will rub the area. This can include, bras, binders, bike shorts, and certain underwear. Avoid swimming, baths, direct sun, fake tanning, shaving the area, or touching the area with unwashed hands.
Once the two weeks is over, continue to keep your tattoo moisturised. As it settles into your skin it may look a little shiny in some places. This will settle over time.
